The History of MHG Asia Pacific

MHG Asia Pacific is part of the MH Group of Companies, a privately owned diversified group of businesses founded in 1970 by our Chairman Steve Haritos. The origins of the business commenced with the importation of prestige automobiles, automotive and motorcycle accessories.

Our move into manufacturing was made in 1975 to produce exterior decorative products for the automotive aftermarket. In 1977 we commenced production of Australia’s first injection-moulded motorcycle helmets. In the same year, we won our first Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) contract to supply body side mouldings for Chrysler Australia. Over the ensuing 35 years, MHG Asia Pacific has developed the reputation as a leading Tier One OEM supplier to the automotive industry.

In 2009, MHG Asia Pacific acquired the automotive glass operations of CSR Limited (ASX: CSR) to become the sole manufacturer of OEM automotive glass in Australia.

Today, MHG Asia Pacific has operations in Australia and Thailand and employs more than 280 staff in the Asia Pacific region.
